Four To Go has been in business since 1972. It is a 4WD accessory store doing everything from simple bolt on accessories to differential work, lift kits and the all too complicated and over populated performance aspect of the business. The store has both a showroom and shop space where the technicians install anything they sell. Owner, Richard DeVries, bought the business after working for his brother for a number of years. That experience was invaluable in helping establish him in the Colorado 4WD industry. They have a 'shop' jeep that has been highly modified including a lift kit, upgraded gears and lockers, a supercharger, different seats and a rack system. This work has provided insight into what may help consumers both on the road and on the trail. They have built vehicles from the ground up. They like to experiment with different brands to see what works the best for different situations. Recently they modified a Jeep Cherokee where they changed over to Dana 60 axles converting an 8" lift to work with the axles, putting in an Atlas II transfer case and running on 35" tires. They have also been working on a Dodge pickup installing a lift, gears and lockers, converting for Mastercraft racing seats, and adding skid protection. This has been an ongoing project to see what works and what doesn't. For more examples of modified vehicles, check out their website. All installations are performed by two technicians with more than 15 years experience. The technicians also enjoy hill climb racing. This provides them with experience on how suspension, differential and motors work not only in high speed situations such as racing but also in the situations that many 4 wheel drive trails offer. Both techs also own diesel trucks and have experimented greatly with different performance upgrades and accessories that hold up in Colorado. This past year Four To Go has started doing trail runs
with a group of customers. In the spring they spent a few days in Moab
prior to Easter Jeep Safari and hope to make that an annual trip. They
have a booth at Mile High Truck Fest at Bandimere Speedway and the techs
do the trail runs to demonstrate how to get through the obstacles without
breaking equipment. This combination of shop and user experience result
in highly qualified employees and technicians. |
