    BOISE, ID (April 21, 2015)--A federal court has accepted the settlement agreement that resolves a lawsuit claiming that the Clearwater National Forest illegally closed recommended wilderness areas (RWA) to motorized use. The agreement, between the Forest Service and lawyers for the Idaho State Snowmobile Association and BlueRibbon Coalition, requires the agency to conduct a new analysis and issue a new decision to evaluate "motorized and over snow access management" in the areas.

  2. Send Support Letters For H.R. 1838-Let's Reopen Clear Creek

    On April 16, California Representatives David G. Valadao (CA-21), Sam Farr (CA-21), and Jeff Denham (CA-10) introduced H.R. 1838, the Clear Creek National Recreation Area and Conservation Act, to direct the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to reopen the 75,000 acre Clear Creek Management Area in San Benito and Fresno counties for recreational use, including access for off-road vehicles. Additionally, the legislation would protect approximately 21,000 acres of BLM land adjacent to Clear Creek as the Joaquin

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 17, 2015) -- The BlueRibbon Coalition, a national trail-based recreation group, applauds Congressman Sam Farr (D-Salinas) and Congressman David Valadao (R-Coalinga), and Congressman Jeff Denham (R- Modesto)  for reintroducing the Clear Creek National Recreation Area and Conservation Act of 2015 (H.R. 1838).  The bill would reopen the 75,000 acre Clear Creek Management Area to OHV recreation and other multiple-uses. In addition, the proposal would designate about 21,000 acres nearby as the Joaquin Rocks Wilderness.

  5. COLORADO-BLM Releases Proposed RMP and Final EIS for Grand Junction Field Office

    The Bureau of Land Management has released the Proposed Resource Management Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement for the approximately one million-acre Grand Junction Field Office in northwestern Colorado. The Grand Junction Field Office includes some of the public's most diverse landscapes and provides some of the nation's premier recreational opportunities. The plan includes a 700,900-acre Shale Ridges and Canyons Master Leasing Plan with oil and gas restrictions ranging from limiting visual impacts to
