"I'm not a club person. I like to go by myself without waiting for or depending on other people."

Its a way of life a lot of people prefer. So why join the Colorado Association?

Founded in 1968, the Association promotes responsible attitudes toward 4WD recreation and works against legislation imposing undue restrictions on off-highway vehicle use. We encourage government land managing agencies to develop areas, roads and motorized trails for motorized recreationists. The Association promotes education and safety programs, family oriented activities, and disseminates information among its members.

Four Wheel drive events are held all over the state, all year long. Your State Association Newsletter (Colorado High Trails) will keep you updated on when and where ice, mud, and drag races, pulls, swap meets, camp outs and shows are going on. Colorado has hundreds of spectacular trails, ghost towns, abandoned mines, etc. One phone call to a member club in any area of the state can give you information on trails, road conditions, etc. which can open up new four wheeling opportunities you never knew existed. All member clubs, Business members, and Officers are listed in your newsletter, along with addresses and phone numbers which put you in touch with a wonderful information network.

Supporting members receive an Association sticker, identifying you as a responsible four wheeler, and an I.D. card entitling you to discounts at many parts and service retailers.

Organized four wheelers respect the natural resources of our land. Hundreds of concerned Colorado four wheelers have donated thousands of dollars in volunteer project hours toward conservation and maintenance of 4WD roads, hiking trails, picnic grounds, and campgrounds. This has resulted in savings of tax dollars and keeping areas open to travel which would otherwise have been closed to motorized traffic permanently.
