High Country Performance 4x4

Featured Associate Member 4th Quarter 2007

Alan Dunn, an early Ford Bronco enthusiast, started his business in his home garage. Then, in 1980 he established Today, the facility is 10,000 square feet. The recently remodeled retail showroom is approximately 2,500 square feet. The shop has 10 bays with 6 hoists. The showroom has on display, and for sale, Dyntrac Pro Rock 60s, Poison Spyder Customs armor, Tuffy Security Products, Fab Fours' bumpers, diesel performance, recovery equipment, a full line of ARB products and accessories.

All four of the technicians are ASE certified. The most senior technician has been at HCP4X4 for over 10 years. The 5 sales people have combined automotive industry experience of 80+ years. High Country Performance works on all 4WD vehicles including full size trucks, SUVs and imports. They specialize in Jeep Wranglers and say; the new 2007 JKs are hot!

As for special projects, they have recently done a lot of restoration work on different vintage CJs. They modified the Dillon Ranger District's TJ Wrangler Rubicon. They installed a BDS 8" suspension on C.O.R.E.'s F-350. They lifted 3 Dodge Rams for Never Summer Industries.

High Country Performance is very active in the 4WD community. They support Stay The Trail, C.O.R.E., Mile-Hi Jeep Club, and RMIHR. Until the Oshwego Jeepers recently disbanded, that club held their meetings at HCP4X4. They generously donate off road parts and accessories to 4WD clubs to help them generate funds. They assisted ARB with's offroad education program. They've held seminars to educate 4 wheelers about their vehicles. They have yearly open houses with manufacturer reps, great sales and door prize give-aways.
